Document Analysis
Upload a document and ask questions about it directly in chat. The AI reads the content and answers based on what's in the file, instead of relying only on general knowledge.
For supported file types and upload basics, see Key Features → File Handling. This page covers asking questions across a document or a set of documents.
Asking Questions About One Document
- Upload a file to your chat (attach icon or drag-and-drop).
- Ask a specific question: "What is the maximum speed and battery range? List key specs."
- The AI answers using the content of the file you uploaded.
"List the key specs" gets a more useful answer than "tell me about this document" — especially for longer files. See Key Features → File Upload Best Practices.
Asking Questions Across Multiple Documents
You can also group several related documents into a collection and ask a question that spans all of them, instead of uploading files one at a time into a single chat.
- Create a collection in the Workspace and add the relevant documents to it.
- Reference the collection in your chat (for example with
#followed by the collection name). - Ask your question — the AI pulls relevant content from across the documents in the collection to answer.
This is useful when the answer to your question isn't in a single file — for example, comparing specs that are split across several product sheets.
What Happens to Uploaded Files
Files you upload are stored so the AI can reference them for follow-up questions in the same chat. They appear in your file management view (see Key Features → File Management), where you can review and delete them when you no longer need them.
Only upload documents you're authorized to share with the platform. Delete files you no longer need — see Key Features → Deleting Files.
When to Use It
Document Analysis is useful for summarizing reports, comparing versions of a document, or pulling specific facts out of long files without reading them end to end yourself.
